Jesse Bohrer-Clancy, M.D. was born and raised in Oregon. After graduating from the University of Oregon with a bachelor's and master’s in chemistry, he worked as a bartender and a SCUBA instructor before taking an EMT course on a whim. He fell in love with EMS and graduated from Chemeketa’s paramedic program in 2001. He worked as a paramedic for Woodburn Ambulance and an ED tech before going to medical school, receiving his M.D. from OHSU (hated it) in 2012. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at the University of Connecticut in Hartford, CT (loved it) where he was chief resident, and then completed a fellowship in EMS at Yale University in New Haven, CT (also loved it) in 2016. He returned to Oregon and is the trauma director and assistant medical director at Legacy Silverton Medical Center. He is also the medical director for the paramedic program at his alma mater, Chemeketa Community College and the associate medical director for Washington County EMS and Hillsboro Fire & Rescue. He has a wife who is much smarter than him and two delightful daughters.
In 1992, I entered the first of three emergency services fields by joining a collegiate emergency medical services unit. A couple years later it was the fire service and then in 2001, I became a New York State Trooper. I have extensive experience in all 3 fields but primarily in the training sector of emergency medical services. Throughout the years, I have attained vast experiences in teaching all certification levels within EMS from First Responder through Paramedic. Recently, I retired from the New York State Police and accepted a position as the first Emergency Medical Service Director at Clarkson University to oversee multiple EMT programs and build a paramedic program. In addition, I have a specialty in the hazardous materials field dealing with clandestine drug labs and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. I have joined the John Maxwell Leadership Team in which I have continue to learn successful communication and leadership skills. For over thirteen years, I have also created and lead a private EMS staffing, training and consulting business called E5 Support Services, LLC. Other training courses that I am certified in include BLS, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, ICS and NRP. What is left unsaid is my enthusiasm to work with a team of professionals in the emergency services field.

A self professed EMS Nerd I have been an EMS provider for 27 years as I started when I was just 2 years old. I am currently the EMS Division Chief for the Camas-Washougal Fire Department in SW Washington. I believe there is no such thing as good enough when it comes to patient care or that you can ever stop learning.
