Kris Kaull, BS, NRP, FP-C, is a transformative leader in EMS with over 30 years of experience, significantly impacting the national landscape. He is the founder of paramedic.com and co-founder of EMS1.com, a leading online EMS resource. As a partner at RedFlash Group, he focuses on strategic development and communications within public safety. Kris is also a critical care flight paramedic and a dynamic speaker, including TEDx alumni, where he addresses the intersections of technology, clinical challenges, and leadership, highlighting the importance of human connection in healthcare. His innovative approach and extensive contributions have made him a leading national authority in EMS marketing and healthcare technologies.

A self professed EMS Nerd I have  been an EMS provider for 29 years as I started when I was just 2 years old. I am currently the EMS Division Chief for the Camas-Washougal Fire Department in SW Washington. I believe there is no such thing as good enough when it comes to patient care or that you can ever stop learning. 

Dr. Brian Drury
MD, M.Ed.

Dr. Drury is a current Emergency Medical Services fellow at OHSU. He earned his MD and M.Ed. from the Penn State College of Medicine and completed his Emergency Medicine residency at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Additionally, he earned his Fellowship in the Academy of Wilderness Medicine (FAWM) through the Wilderness Medical Society and his Diploma in Mountain Medicine (DiMM) through the University of New Mexico.

Chris Hamper
B.S.

Chris Hamper is a leader in emergency medical services with deep roots in Clark County. Starting as a volunteer firefighter and EMT, Chris advanced to paramedic roles and became a respected educator, teaching at OHSU/OIT for over 15 years. Chris has published research, authored key EMS manuals, and helped launch the first community paramedic program in the Pacific Northwest. Known for innovative teaching and leadership, Chris is dedicated to strengthening EMS systems and ensuring high-quality patient care throughout the region.

Mohamud Daya
MD, MSc

Mohamud Daya, MD, MSc, is a Professor of Emergency Medicine and the EMS section chief at OHSU. He is also the EMS medical director for TVF&R, FGF&R, Cornelius Fire, Banks Fire, and Gaston Fire, as well as for the Washington County 911 system. 

Ian Phillips
FP-C

Ian has been a Flight Paramedic since 2015 coming into Life Flight since the opening of the base in Burley, Idaho. Since joining Life Flight Network, LLC., Ian has worked at every LFN base between Pendleton, Oregon and Burley, Idaho.  Ian currently serves as the Business Area Manager for the LFN bases in Pendleton, La Grande, and Ontario. In his off time, Ian plays obscure disc sports involving all types of unique frisbees, plays with his dogs, and skis.

Missy Carter

Missy is a Tacoma Community College alumni and has been involved in the EMS community since 2000. Prior to attending PA school at the University of Washington in 2014 Missy served as a paramedic for the Bremerton Fire Department for over 11 years. Missy has a background in Emergency Medicine as a PA-C and she is currently practicing in the ICU and serves as critical care fellowship co-director. She taught at the TCC paramedic program for 20 years and Missy has been teaching difficult airway management for over a decade. Missy is also active in the medical community as clinical preceptor for PA students at MEDEX Northwest.

Frank Ehrmantraut
Division Chief

Chief Ehrmantraut joined Polk County Fire District No.1 as the Division Chief of EMS and Logistics in 2022. He brings with him 17 years of experience as a public safety professional including serving as a private and public single role paramedic, EMS lieutenant, firefighter, and fire captain. During his tenure in those roles, he consistently sought opportunities to improve systems, invest in others, and enjoyed serving the community. He is also an advocate at the state level for the progression of EMS delivery.

Chief Ehrmantraut is passionate about his professional responsibility as a perpetual student. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Services Administration from Columbia Southern University and a Master of Public Administration from American Public University. He also holds numerous fire and EMS related certifications including several awarded from the National Fire Academy.

He lives in Salem with his wife, Carilyn, and his daughter, Emma. He and his family are active with the Shriners and volunteer their energies towards other worthy community causes. During their free time, his family enjoy farmers’ markets, group game nights, reading, and travel.

Jacob Fisher

Jacob Fisher is an eleven-year veteran of the Nevada State Police. Currently assigned to Urban Las Vegas Day Shift. Prior to being promoted to Lieutenant, worked as a Sergeant assigned to a multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional task force, responsible for training over 7,000 first responders in the Las Vegas valley on critical incident management and active assailant response. Jacob Fisher served ten years in the United States Army within the medical corps. Jacob Fisher is a graduate of the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and is also a graduate of the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command, Class #527. Jacob Fisher has been an ALERRT Adjunct Instructor for 7 years.
